The BMW 5 series has been the long standing benchmark of sports sedans. These sedans are true sports sedans offering razor sharp handling, tracking precisely through corners. BMW has found a way to offer this sports car like handling without any sacrifice to ride quality, which is outstanding at any speed. Fully independent suspension, fine tuned with BMW's racing heritage, and four wheel anti-lock disc brakes afford razor sharp handling and bring things to a halt in a hurry if needed. The 540i features a  4.4 litre V8 power plant (290 H.P.) which provides brisk performance with a velvet smoothness which is a BMW trademark of their wonderful V8 powerplants. 0-60 come up in a scant 5.9 seconds, on up to a 155 MPH top speed! The Dinan Intake and reprogramed chip bring an additional measure of performance to the party. The piece de resistance is the six speed manual transmisson in this car. With a powerful V8 and a six speed manual, this is what a true sports sedan is all about! This engine also provides surprisingly good fuel economy (20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway)  Safety has not been overlooked as well with front and side air bags featuring BMW's excellent head protection system.

Our featured 5 Series is in great shape. Its original orient blue metallic paint is in excellent condition, free from any significant dings or scratches. The smoke free gray leather interior is in excellent shape as well. The burlwood trim is perfect and adds a subtle richness to the interior. Mechanically this BMW has been recently serviced and completely gone through by a BMW service center in Southern California. With only 37,000 miles (approx.2800 miles per year), all systems are in excellent operating order including the A/C which works great! This generation of 5 series has a classic look that some feel was lost on the newer generation of cars. This 540i has stunning looks in one of the best color combinations. Because of its proper servicing, and super low mileage, this car will provide many years of enjoyable use. This is one of the cleanest 5 series of this generation that I have seen. Most importantly this car is not only great looking, it is a delight to drive in BMW's best tradition!
