The Mercedes SL Roadsters have been manufactured since 1954. The early SL's including the 300SL, the 190SL, and the 280SL, are now classics and command large dollars to purchase. Our featured 560SL will surely go that route as time progresses. 

The SL Mercedes is one of the most recognizable automotive icons of the last half century. The SL has long been the leader in elegance and performance in the grand touring roadster segments. The SL's have cutting edge technology as expected from Mercedes Benz, along with the comfort of a grand touring machine. These cars are at their best on the open road. providing top down motoring at it finest. 

This third generation of SL Mercedes had a model run of 18 years, from 1972 to 1989. They are, in the Mercedes tradition, solid, well built, and well engineered automobiles.

Our featured 1987 560 SL is in excellent condition. Mechanically the all aluminum 5.6 litre V8 provides effortless performance through the four speed automatic gearbox. The origional exterior paint is in as new condition, still showing a new car luster, and free from any dings, or scratches. The (smoke free) leather interior is in excellent condition as well. The convertable top is like new with perfectly clear back plastic rear windows. This SL also has the factory hardtop, which is in excellent shape. Mechanically, this SL560 is in very good shape as well. It has been regularly serviced by the prior owner. With only 83,000 miles (approx 3,300 miles per year) this SL runs briskly through the gears. Even the A/C blows cold.

These SL's cost over $ 70,000 when new in 1987 dollars.  Our featured 560 SL is considered the best of this generation of SL's with the excellent performance provided by the 5.6 litre V8. They are sure to appreciate in value as the nice,examples become more scarce. The prior generation 280 SL's are bringing serious dollars as a collectable classic. It is obvious this SL has had a good life being garaged. This is one of the cleanest 560SL's that I have had the pleasure of selling!
