The Mercedes SL roadsters have been manufactured since 1954. The early SL's, including the 300SL,the 190SL and the 280SL are now classics and command large dollars to purchase. Our featured 500SL (known as the R129 chassis) will surely go that route as time progresses. The 1998 500SL belongs to the fourth  generation of this historic line of automobiles. This SL is powered by a 5 liter DOHC 32 valve aluminum alloy V8 with 322 H.P. This powerplant along with Mercedes 5 speed automatic transmission, provides robust acceleration through the gears. The SL's fully independent suspension allow the cars to be very nimble, for their size, on the road. Their four wheel anti-lock disc brakes bring them to a quick stop when needed.The 500 SL's are a joy to drive especially with the top down on a sunny day. The SL's came loaded with factory equipment. This equipment includes: ten way power seats with memory, power windows, power mirrors (including the rear view mirror), leather upholstery, SRS with driver and passanger air bags, Automatic climate control, Bose sound system, keyless entry, and automatic pop up roll bar for rollover protection. Our featured SL is in excellent condition. The Azure Blue paint still showing a new car luster. The convertable top is in excellent shape as well, with the plastic rear windows looking like new.
